Upcoming This Week

I thought I would give you guys a run down of the projects in our home for this week before we started them, and some before pictures to look at.

First I bought this set of solid mohogany nesting tables at a thrift store this past Saturday for $20, can you believe it? Its in great shape with the exception of the top of the first table which has a glazed piece of leather on the top, that someone used as a stamp pad.....lol cant wait to make it over :)

Than, before the trip to the thrift was a trip to ikea to grab some pretty white these babies, at a steal!

They are the Ritva in 118" see our ceilings are 9' high and it was impossible for this cheapo girl to find curtains that didn't cost me a small fortune, that is until I saw these babies, and the come with stitch witchery to hem them perfectly! how awesome is that!?

While there we always walk by the as is section, I always score something I can use, the last time we went I found our Malm dresser in the brown black color, and its perfect for our bedroom for $75. This time I found this pretty pretty lamp for $19 originally $60, we tested it, it worked and I brought it home YAY! Cant wait to dress this one up.

Then we have a recipe for a cake that we tried and was absolutely awesome.

And finally the hubs is planning on a photo tutorial for you guys, on lighting and settings. I'm in the learning process too so it will be good to be able to go over it.

And know I probably through a couple of other posts in for good measure along the way.

So thats this week, hope you will follow along :)

Hugs and kisses,

Ivette

Pizza Pizza Pizza!!

This weekend we did alot of repairing the big hole in the side of the house.  Thanks to my Dad and the Hubs they patched the hole pretty well and repainted so it looks like it never happened.

Other than that we made homemade pizza crust and pizzas for dinner.  I made a whole wheat crust from this recipe Pizza Crust Recipe came out awesome!

I made a spinach tomato and garlic pizza, on the whole wheat crust, and the hubs made a peruvian pizza....heheh he loves spicy food so he wanted to pay homage to his heritage.  He made a grilled chicken tomato and red onion pizza.

He sauted the chicken in aji amarillo paste, salt and pepper, and garlic, and then browned it and set it to the side, and then sauteed up some red onions and tomatoes in aji amarillo paste and salt until they where soft.  Then he layered sauce, chicken, italian shredded, cheddar shredded, and then the sauteed onions and tomatoes.

Me and little man had a couple of slices of the spinach and tomato and the Hubs ate his Spicy little number.  I tasted it and it was really good!  Gotta add that to our rotation :)

Well hope you guys had a great, restful or productive weekend as well!

Hugs and kisses,
Ivette

Making a Bee line for the Door

Recently we have been missing a couple of days of posting in between our vaca and now, and I will explain why.  See when we came back from Disney my little man was sick, and of course I got it too so we where laying around drinking soup and getting better.  And well two days after returning (this past Tuesday) I was reading email and the little man was playing with his cars on the area rug, I heard buzzing.....hmmm how weird what is that.  I looked down and there was  a honey bee on the floor half paralyzed it seemed.  Now you have to realize i am terrified of bees, because when I was young I was stung by a wasp and it was not pleasant.

Well I smacked it with a piece of newspaper and scooped it up and threw it in the trash.  Then I heard it again, more buzzing. So I start getting paranoid, and searching the room, there in the window sil where 2 more bees crawling around on the marble.   AHHHHH I grabbed little man and my purse and ran to the car, and drove to my moms.....lol on my way out of the house I looked next to the garage to see a huge swarm coming out of the side of our house  AKKKK!

So I called the Hubs, and he told me to call out a Bee removal company.  I did great company called Bee Wise.  Marcel came out at took a look and said we had a swarm trying to move into our house.  So he proceeded to open a whole in the sofit on the outside of the house...... don't be surprised by the amount of bees, I almost fainted!  Check this out...

What a welcome home that is shhhheeeeessshhh. Well all I have to say is thank god for Marcel and Bee Wise....hehehe, the bees are gone, we let the house air out a bit from the spray.  And we are back home bee free.  This weekend me and the hubs will be repairing the hole.
Love and kisses,
Ivette

P.S. After I called the hubs and told him, him being my Knight in Shinning Armour came home to meet with the Bee Guy and deal with the infestation.....thank god for my man too!

A Magical Week

20110308-IMG_0318 by bludevl80
Cj Happy a photo by Camere Photography on Flickr.
This is just a little preview of where we have been for the last week and a half. We took a well deserved mini vaca to Disney with the Little Man. He had such a blast and we loved spoiling him rotten....heheh

We also where able to spend very little money on the entire trip thanks to our time share, and making most of our meals except for lunch at the resort. So all the extra cash was mostly for gas and souvenirs for Little Man. I will be posting some more pics soon.

Also, gotta tell you guys about our run in with our new live in tenants when we got back........

First Ever Post Woohoo

Hi My name is Ivette and along with my hubs Jon we have created this blog to share our stories, experiences, design issues, crafts, recipes, and photography.  We have been married 3.5 years and together for 10 years.  Our  2 and a half year old son Cj is our best accomplishment to date thus far.  But I digress, my hopes for this blog are to get the advice and support of fellow bloggers.

Recently I was made a Cutie Valentines Day Yarn Wreath to spruce up our home for the holiday and it came our so cute I have decided to make more.  This is the one I made for Valentines Day. :)

And then I made one for my cutie patootie niece.....

Nice right! :)

Now I'm working on one for Easter, and will soon post some pics for you all to see :)
